Quote of the Day

“We can relieve people of the worries about paying their medical bills. But only at the cost of entrenched mediocrity in medical care.”

  1. I don’t think mediocrity is the right word.

These universal health care schemes can never deliver all the health care they promise. The result is a system that operates to provide a minimal level of care to most but, hides resource (money!) problems in de facto rationing schemes.

Every British government has promised to reduce the waiting times in the NHS. They are all lying. The waiting lists are a prime rationing tool. So, they go on playing musical chairs with promises and waiting lists knowing full well that while everyone is promised a chair there will never be near enough for everyone.
