great site, really interesting read. You should make your RSS feed more obvious though, so people can find it! here it is: http://everydayecon.wordpress.com/feed/
Yep, a link to the RSS feed would be wonderful – though I’ve found it here of course.
everyday economist is the best
Dear Josh,
Enjoy economics, and the study of value.
Enjoy your blog.
Congratulations on your award.
Is your paper on your site?
Re: GM repayment.
The real interesting question is the political dimension.
The micro level is the accounting of the billions as you have done.
The Macro level is : political.
Do you believe that the White House did not orchestrate the GM PR on this as 60% owner? Is this GM speaking or the government speaking through GM to praise their action?
The less than transparent, presentation of the successful investment being concluded seems to be a much bigger PR/propaganda value to the administration (successful economic decisions) than GM who really needs to prove their value and success in meeting the needs of customers while producing a profit.
Perhaps this is a version of Bastiat’s -”What is seen and what is not seen.” applied to politics.
Just a Machiavellian touch.
Keep up the good work.
Regards.
Greg
